The compact crossover that powers Iowa commutes, school runs, and weekend trips on a single tank — 201 horsepower, available Intelligent AWD, ProPILOT Assist on Rock Creek and Platinum, and the new Dark Armor grade for 2026.5.
The differences between S, SV, Dark Armor, Rock Creek, and Platinum are real — but every Rogue ships with the same Nissan-engineered foundation. Before you pick a trim, here's what comes with all of them.
From the well-equipped S at $29,490 to the head-up-display, Bose-audio Platinum at $39,390, every 2026.5 Rogue is powered by the same 1.5L VC-Turbo and Xtronic CVT. New for 2026.5: the Dark Armor grade adds gloss-black exterior trim, 19-inch black wheels, and a panoramic moonroof above the SV. Rock Creek and Platinum are AWD-only; S, SV, and Dark Armor are FWD with Intelligent AWD available. (FWD starting MSRPs shown; destination $1,545.)
The 2026.5 Rogue is built around Nissan's signature 1.5L VC-Turbo three-cylinder — the only production engine that varies its compression ratio on the fly. High compression when you're cruising, low compression when you ask for power. The result: 201 hp, 225 lb-ft, and up to 36 highway MPG3 from the same engine.
Available Intelligent AWD splits torque front-to-rear in real time — helpful on a Des Moines January morning. ProPILOT Assist (standard on Rock Creek and Platinum, ProPILOT Assist 2.0 with Navi-link on Platinum) keeps the Rogue centered in its lane and at a set distance from traffic on long Iowa interstate drives.4
The Rogue is the crossover most Iowa families actually use day to day — short trips down Hickman or Mills Civic, the I-235 grind into downtown, school pickups, Trader Joe's runs. With up to 36 highway MPG3 and Nissan's VC-Turbo three-cylinder, it asks the gas station for less of your time and money than a bigger SUV would.
It's a real weekend vehicle too. Adventureland with kids in the back, an overnight in Iowa City for a football Saturday, a day trip up to Dubuque — five seats, real cargo room, and an entry MSRP under $31,000. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every trim, heated front seats arrive on SV, and ProPILOT Assist takes over the highway-cruise workload from SL up.4
For Iowa winters: Intelligent AWD is available on every Rogue trim, not just the top one. Same engine, same transmission, same warranty — just torque split front-to-rear in real time when traction goes away. Willis Nissan keeps the right mix of FWD and AWD Rogues on the ground at our Des Moines showroom, and our service department handles the rest of the relationship after the sale.
View Rogue inventory Contact Willis NissanStandard front-wheel drive on S, SV, and Dark Armor with Intelligent AWD available as an option (adds approximately $1,400 to the trim's starting MSRP). Rock Creek and Platinum are AWD-only — Intelligent AWD is standard, not optional, on those two trims. All five trims share the same 1.5L VC-Turbo engine and Xtronic CVT.
Five passengers across two rows. If you need three rows, the larger Nissan Pathfinder seats seven or eight. The Rogue is the compact, two-row crossover in the Nissan SUV lineup.
Up to 29 city / 36 highway / 32 combined MPG on FWD S and SV trims, per EPA estimates.3 AWD configurations and the higher-trim SL and Platinum models come in slightly lower. Actual mileage will vary with conditions and driving style.
Five trims, all on the same 1.5L VC-Turbo engine. S ($29,490 FWD) is the entry with cloth seats and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. SV ($30,490 FWD) adds power driver seat, heated front seats, and remote start. Dark Armor ($33,340 FWD, new for 2026.5) brings gloss-black exterior trim, 19-inch black wheels, PrimaTex™ leatherette heated seats, and a panoramic moonroof. Rock Creek ($34,390 AWD-only) is the off-road grade with Falken Wild Peak all-terrain tires, Hill Descent Control, and a tubular roof rack. Platinum ($39,390 AWD-only) tops the lineup with semi-aniline leather, head-up display, ProPILOT Assist 2.0 with Navi-link, and 10-speaker Bose audio.
ProPILOT Assist is Nissan's hands-on highway driving assistance technology. It uses adaptive cruise control and lane-centering to keep the Rogue at a set following distance and centered in its lane on well-marked highways — useful on long Iowa interstate drives. It is standard on Rock Creek and Platinum, and the Platinum upgrades to ProPILOT Assist 2.0 with Navi-link, which can adjust speed based on the navigation route ahead.4
No — the 2026.5 Rogue is gasoline-only, powered by the 1.5L VC-Turbo three-cylinder. Nissan's electric crossover is the ARIYA, which is sized similarly to the Rogue but is fully battery-electric. See willisnissan.com/ariya for the electric option.
Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) is Nissan's signature engine technology. A multi-link mechanism varies the engine's compression ratio in real time — high compression (around 14:1) when you're cruising, for efficiency, and lower compression (around 8:1) when you put your foot down, for power. It's how the Rogue gets 201 hp and up to 36 highway MPG out of a 1.5L three-cylinder.
Yes on higher trims. Google Built-in brings Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play Store apps directly into the Rogue's infotainment system on SL and Platinum. Every Rogue also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can use your phone's apps if you prefer.
Up to 1,500 lb when properly equipped.2 That's enough for a small utility trailer, a pair of jet skis, or a lightweight pop-up camper. For heavier towing, the Nissan Pathfinder is rated up to 6,000 lb.
