The 2026 Sentra is a ground-up redesign — dual 12.3-inch displays standard, segment-above features even on the base S, and a new top-spec SL trim for buyers who want sedan refinement at compact-sedan pricing.
The differences between S, SV, SR, and the new SL show up in seating material, audio, and tech — but every all-new 2026 Sentra ships with the same redesigned chassis, dual 12.3-inch displays, and full Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite.
From the $22,600 S — which already includes the dual 12.3-inch displays and Safety Shield 360 — up to the brand-new top-spec SL with ProPILOT Assist, sunroof, and BOSE® audio at $27,990.1
Every 2026 Sentra ships with dual 12.3-inch displays — a 12.3" digital instrument cluster paired with a 12.3" NissanConnect® touchscreen — even on the $22,600 S. That kind of screen real estate used to be reserved for vehicles costing several thousand dollars more.
The 2.0L four-cylinder makes 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque, routed through an Xtronic CVT that Nissan retuned for 2026 to feel more natural off the line and on highway merges. Combined with FWD, the result is an EPA-rated up to 30 mpg city / 38 mpg highway on S and SV.3
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all four trims — Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning with Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention®, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking on SL. The new SL adds ProPILOT Assist for hands-on highway driving support.2
The Sentra is the entry point. It's the car for a graduate starting a first job in the East Village, a parent shopping for a reliable second car, a family handing the keys to a college student headed to Iowa State or Drake. Twenty-two-six gets you in, and dual 12.3-inch displays come standard at that price — which is the kind of equipment a 2026 Sentra buyer can show off, not apologize for.
For the Des Moines metro commute — Ankeny or Waukee into downtown, West Des Moines to Jordan Creek, the I-235 loop — the retuned Xtronic CVT and up to 38-mpg highway rating add up fast. Stretch it to the I-80 run to Iowa City for a game or Cedar Rapids for work, and the gas budget stays small. Around downtown, it tucks into parking-meter spots that an Altima or a crossover wouldn't.
What's new this year: the SL trim. For the buyer who would otherwise be looking at a base Altima or a competitor's compact, the Sentra now goes higher — ProPILOT Assist, moonroof, BOSE® audio, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate — for under $28,000. Sentra didn't have a real top-spec answer before. It does now.
Schedule a test drive Call (866) 807-7802Yes — the 2026 Sentra is a ground-up redesign, including a new SL trim at the top of the lineup. Dual 12.3-inch displays are now standard on every trim, and Nissan retuned the Xtronic CVT for a more natural driving feel.
Four: S ($22,600), SV ($23,370), SR ($25,000), and the new SL ($27,990). All MSRPs exclude the $1,245 destination charge.1
EPA-rated up to 30 mpg city / 38 mpg highway / 33 mpg combined on Sentra S and SV. SR and SL are rated 29 city / 36 highway / 32 combined. Exact figures vary by trim and equipment — see the window sticker for details.3
No — the Sentra is front-wheel drive only. For Nissan AWD options, see the Rogue, Murano, or Pathfinder.
The 2026 Sentra S includes dual 12.3-inch displays (digital cluster + NissanConnect® touchscreen), wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, LED low/high-beam headlights, and the full Nissan Safety Shield 360 driver-assist suite — features that on prior model years were optional or restricted to higher trims.
The SL is new for 2026 and sits at the top of the lineup. Standard equipment includes a power moonroof, BOSE® Premium Sound System with 8 speakers, HD Intelligent Around View® Monitor, Rear Sonar System, Rear Automatic Braking, NissanConnect® with Wi-Fi Hotspot, and ProPILOT Assist for hands-on highway driving support.2,4
ProPILOT Assist is Nissan's hands-on highway driving assistance system. It combines Intelligent Cruise Control (full-speed-range adaptive cruise with traffic stop-go) and lane-centering steering assist, so the vehicle helps maintain its position in the lane and follow the car ahead. The driver remains responsible for the vehicle at all times. Standard on SL.2
No — the 2026 Sentra is gasoline-only, with a 2.0L four-cylinder and an Xtronic CVT. For Nissan hybrids and electric vehicles, see the ARIYA all-electric crossover.
